Controller / “we”: OFS Radar · Website: https://ofsradar.com · Privacy / contact: [email protected]
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our website, create an account, start a trial, subscribe, join our free weekly email list, or otherwise use OFS Radar (the “Service”). Related terms appear in our Terms of Service.
1. Scope and roles
- We act as a business providing B2B software and marketing communications.
- This Policy covers personal information about identifiable individuals (for example your name, work email, account activity).
- Much of the oil & gas activity data in the product (permits, operators, production signals) comes from public regulatory sources (chiefly the Texas RRC). That public business data is generally not treated as consumer personal information under this Policy, though it may occasionally include names that appear in public records.
2. Information we collect
You provide: account details (name, work email, company, role), watchlist preferences, billing identity at checkout, support messages, marketing signup email, and information you share on calls.
Payments: processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. We may receive limited billing metadata (last4, brand, subscription status, invoices, customer ID).
Automatically: pages viewed, feature use, watchlist events, export actions, digest open/click if tracked; IP address, browser, device, approximate location from IP, referrer, timestamps, error logs; session and preference cookies, and analytics cookies if we enable them.
From third parties: auth or SSO if enabled later; Stripe; email delivery providers; public sources used in the product dataset.
AI: if you use AI brief or digest features, we send structured product context to a language-model provider. We design the pipeline so numbers should come from our database. Avoid pasting unrelated personal data into free-text fields.
3. How we use information
- Provide and operate the Service
- Process transactions and send invoices/receipts
- Send product email you request or that is part of your plan
- Send marketing email such as the free weekly brief, where permitted
- Secure the Service
- Improve product quality, accuracy metrics, and UX
- Communicate about support and material Service changes
- Comply with law and enforce Terms
- Analyze aggregate, de-identified trends
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising unless we later implement it and update this Policy.
4. Email practices
We identify the sender as OFS Radar. Marketing messages include a working unsubscribe mechanism. We honor opt-outs promptly. A physical postal address is not published in this Policy for v1; we will add a valid postal address to commercial email footers before high-volume marketing sends if required.
Transactional / relationship messages (security, billing, paid digests that are part of your subscription) may continue as needed even if you opt out of marketing. We do not use automated SMS marketing at launch.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies for session, security, and preferences. Analytics or marketing cookies only if enabled. You can control cookies through browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may break login.
6. How we share information
We share personal information only as needed with:
- Service providers (hosting, database, email delivery, error monitoring, LLM API, analytics if enabled)
- Stripe, for payments and subscription management
- Professional advisors
- Parties to a business transfer
- Legal authorities when required
- Others at your direction (for example a teammate you invite)
We do not sell email lists. We do not share customer watchlists or account contents with other customers.
7. International transfers
We primarily target U.S. customers. Infrastructure may be in the United States or another region. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be processed in the U.S. or other countries.
8. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, tax, and security needs. Account profiles typically last the life of the account plus a short wind-down. Billing records follow tax rules. Marketing lists last until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression list. Public regulatory datasets follow product data-retention policies, separate from your account profile.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to a small SaaS business. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Report suspected security issues to [email protected] (subject: “Security”).
10. Your choices and rights
You may access or update profile information, cancel a subscription, unsubscribe from marketing email, adjust notification preferences where offered, and request deletion of your account/personal data (subject to legal exceptions).
Depending on your U.S. state of residence (including California), you may have rights to know/access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising (we do not currently sell or share for that purpose). To exercise rights, email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy Request.”
If GDPR/UK GDPR applies, our legal bases typically include contract, legitimate interests, consent where required, and legal obligation.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or 13 where relevant). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Third-party links and maps
The Service may link to third-party sites (including regulatory sites) or load map tiles from third parties. Their privacy practices are their own.
13. Changes
We may update this Policy periodically and will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice.
